Harri Heliövaara is a professional tennis player from Finland. He is a part of the ATP tour and he has appeared in a number of Grand Slam events. Some of his more notable performances include making it to the 3R of the 2021 Wimbledon tournament men’s doubles. He also made it to the 1R of that year’s US Open men’s doubles. His highest doubles ranking is No.76 which he achieved in August 2021.

Personal Life and Player Bio

Heliövaara was born on June 4, 1989, in Helsinki, which he still resides. He stands 188 centimeters tall and he is a right-handed player with a two-handed backhand. He turned pro in 2009 and as per the ATP, he is coached by Boris Chernov and PT Erik Piispa. He 2011, he added Johan Landsberg to his coaching team.

He started playing tennis when he was just six years old. He speaks several languages including Finnish, English, and Swedish. His favorite surface to play on is hardcourt. One of his goals in playing professional tennis is to break into the World Top 10 and play at the Olympics.

University and Junior Career

Heliövaara attended the Aalto University and the Helsinki University of Technology. As a junior’s player, he won the 2007 Australian Open boy’s doubles.

Professional Career

Heliövaara turned professional in 2009. He has not won a tour-level title as a singles player but he has two tour titles playing doubles. Some of his more notable performances as a doubles player include making it to the 1R of the US Open and the 3R of Wimbledon, both in 2021. His career-high doubles ranking is 76. He reached this in August 2021.

As a singles player, he made it to the Q1 of the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open in 2012. In the same year, he made it to Q2 of Wimbledon. His highest singles ranking is 194, which he achieved in December 2011.
