Nuria Diaz

Nuria Parrizas Diaz is a professional tennis player, who is currently ranked No. 65 as of October 2021. Diaz was born and raised in Granada, Spain, but she is currently residing in Valencia, Spain. She began playing tennis when she was 6 years and was trained until she was 14. At 14, she was awarded by the Andalusian Tennis Federation a scholarship to train with them.

Tennis Career

Diaz made her professional debut in the Futures tournaments, and she was convinced that she needed to live and train in Barcelona under Hispano Frances Academy. However, Diaz returned to Granada because of a lack of financial support. When she was 22 years old, she decided to go to Italy for training. However, her career came to a pause because of her shoulder injury, thus she was not able to retain her TOP 300 position. At 24, she was asked if she could give up tennis, because of her injury.

Despite not having financial and professional sponsorship, she pursued returning to tennis in 2017, where she won a lot of ITF tournaments in Spain, Italy, and Germany. She also had received a settlement of $25,000 for tennis tournaments and added two more titles under her belt.

In January, Diaz managed to play for the qualifying rounds in the Australian Open while in 2021, she was qualified for Copa Colsanitas tournaments with 2 wins.
