Anna-Lena Friedsam is a German professional WTA tennis player and is known for winning 2 WTA titles in the doubles division and one title at one of the WTA Challenger Tours. In August 2016, Friedsam was declared to reach her career-high rank as World Number 45. Meanwhile, she ranked at World Number 34 at the doubles division in 2020.0 Currently, her prize money reached US$ 1,920,538.

Early Life

Friedsam shared that she learned to pick up the racket at the young age of 6 years old and she was passionate about sports involving balls. However, her parents decided to support her in tennis and at 11 years old, she began to compete in junior tennis tournaments.

Her first tournament as a professional started in 2011, where she won 6 singles and 2 doubles titles in ITF competitions. She also participated in the German Women’s National Championship in 2013, where she became the titleholder. By the following year, she made various appearances on the WTA Tour, where she played the main draw for Wimbledon and Roland-Garros. She also successfully made it to the semi-final in Australia with prize money of $250,000.00.
