Anastasia Ivanovna Rodionova was born on May 12, 1982, in Tambov, Soviet Union. She stands 167 cm tall, and she plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand.

She began playing tennis at age seven and was coached by her father, Ivan, until she was 18. She later moved to Germany to train for three years before returning to Moscow in 2003. She has resided in Melbourne since 2005. Her younger sister, Arina Rodionova, is also a professional tennis player, and the two have competed in doubles tournaments together.

Professional Career

Rodionova turned professional in May 1997. She initially represented Russia before becoming an Australian citizen in 2009. She achieved her career-high singles ranking of World No. 62 in August 2010.

Her career was marked by her successes in doubles. She won 11 titles on the WTA Tour, as well as 13 titles on the ITF Circuit, and achieved a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 15 in September 2014. Her best Grand Slam results include reaching the mixed-doubles final at the Wimbledon Championships in 2003 with Andy Ram and the semifinals of the women's doubles event at the US Open in 2010 with Cara Black.

Rodionova and her sister Arina have also partnered in doubles, reaching the finals of the Malaysian Open and the Monterrey Open.

She was also a member of the Australian team at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, where she won a silver medal in singles and a bronze in doubles. Rodionova retired from professional tennis in August 2023.
