Known by his nickname "Lucho," he won the men's doubles at the French Open in 2008 and famously defeated Roger Federer at the same tournament in 2003.

Horna's greatest doubles achievement came at the French Open in 2008, where he and his partner, Pablo Cuevas, won the men's doubles title. This victory propelled him to a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 15 in February 2009.
