Klára Zakopalová nee Koukalova is a female Czech professional tennis player. She was born on February 24, 1984 in Prague, Czech Republic, to parents Jiri Koukal (father; taxi driver) and Jana Koukalova (mother; bartender at a local golf resort). She is coached by David Kunst, and has a stuffed turtle as her lucky charm.
Zakopalová turned pro in 1999 where she won her first ITF Circuit singles title. In 2000, she fell in the qualifying rounds for Tour three times, but she still managed to win two ITF Circuit titles in singles. By 2001, she qualified for her first Tour main draw at an event held at Antwerp. There, she managed to reach the final round, however she lost the game to Rittner. That year, she won two ITF Circuit titles in singles.In 2002, Zakopalová reached her second Tour finals for singles at Casablanca. She finished as a runner up after losing to Wartusch. Once again, she won one ITF Circuit titles in singles during that year. Through 2003, Zakopalová made her debuts at all four Grand Slams, garnering a third round finish at the Australian Open. She also made her first Top 100 debut in that year by jumping from No. 113 to No. 76.

The year 2005 is considered to be her best season to date as she won her first two singles titles in Tour. She also reached the quarter finals at Hobart and Antwerp, but withdrew from the event at Acapulco due to tendonitis on her right shoulder. She also withdrew from Indian Wells and Mondena due to reported illness.
Throughout her career, Zakopalová has a record of 287-229 for singles, and 9-39 for doubles. She has acquired 2 WTA titles as well as 6 ITF titles for singles; however, she has not won any titles in doubles yet. She has reached her highest ranking at No. 27, which she attained in March 6, 2006.
