Early Life and Junior Career

In his final year on the junior circuit in 2004, Schwank was a dominant player, winning five tournaments, including his biggest title, the Banana Bowl, where he defeated Pablo Andújar in the final.

Schwank finished the year ranked No. 2 in the world in the junior rankings, behind only Gaël Monfils.

Professional Career

Schwank turned professional in 2005. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 48 in June 2010. His best Grand Slam singles performance was a third-round appearance at the French Open in 2008 and 2012.

He also reached the second round of the Australian Open and the US Open. In 2008, a hotel in Bordeaux where Schwank was staying caught fire, destroying his belongings, including his passport and prize money. He still went on to win the tournament, his third consecutive Challenger title.

In doubles, his career-high ranking was World No. 14 in June 2011.

He reached the finals of the French Open in men's doubles in 2011 with his partner Juan Sebastián Cabal. He was also a finalist in mixed doubles at the US Open in 2011 with Gisela Dulko.

In 2012, he teamed up with Dulko to defeat Serena Williams and Bob Bryan in the first round of the Wimbledon mixed doubles tournament.

Schwank retired from professional tennis in 2015.
