She made her Grand Slam main draw debut in 2016 when she was in the second round of Wimbledon. The following year, she was in the main draw of all four of the majors. That year, she also played in the Canadian Open and made it to the second round.
In 2018, she made it to the finals of the Linz Open but lost to Camila Giorgi. In January 2020, she won the title at the Shenzhen Open, beating Elena Rybakina. In 2021, she reached the WTA Finals again at the Kremlin Open. She lost to Annett Kontaveit. In June 2022, she won the Rosmalen Open in the Netherlands. She beat Aryna Sabalenka to win the title.
She was also part of the Russian team that won the Billie Jean King Cup in 2021. She did not play in Wimbledon in 2022 since the All-England Cup banned Russian and Belarusian players.
