Ryan Harrison is an American professional tennis player who was born on May 7, 1992 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, and is coached by Michael Russell. Harrison plays right-handed, and started playing the sport when he was just 2 years old. His father, Pat, used to be a professional tennis player as well, although mainly in Challenger and Future events, and was his first coach. Harrison’s younger brother is also a tennis player, who plays on the ATP Challenger Tour.

Before Harrison turned 16, he was known as a prodigy after he was able to rank in the Top 10 of the junior rankings. He was one of the youngest player to ever win an ATP match. This happened although it was only until he was 20 that he was able to break through the ATP level. Unfortunately, Harrison fell out of the Top 100 for a number of years.

It was only in 2016 that he was able to break into the Top 100 once more, and won against many opponents who were ranked in the Top 20.

So far in his career, Harrison was able to have a record of 103 victories and 136 losses. He has 1 career title to his name, but no Grand Slam tournament titles. He is currently ranked at No. 54 as of April 2018, but his highest rank reached was at No. 40 on July 2017. In doubles, Harrison does have a Grand Slam title which he won during the 2017 French Open. He is ranked at No. 17 as of April 2018 in doubles.
