World number one Novak Djokovic has claimed his fifth title in six tournaments after winning the Dubai Tennis Championships crown over Tomas Berdych.
Djokovic, competing in his first tournament since winning the Australian Open, defeated Berdych 7-5, 6-3, to widen the gap at the top of the world rankings.
“To prevail like this and to be the last one standing is thrilling for me,” Djokovic said.
“It was a very close match and could have gone either way. It was never going to be an easy final because Tomas is a fantastic player. He’s been on the tour a long time and is very experienced. He beat Federer in an incredible match.”
Djokovic added: “I had a good feeling and good vibe about the tournament.
“There are always three or four top 10 players participating here. I enjoy competing for this trophy.”
