Swiss superstar Roger Federer has conceded that Novak Djokovic was the best tennis player this year.
The Serbian finished the season as world number one with victory over Federer in the ATP Tour Finals in London.
Djokovic had previously won the Australian Open back in January, while Federer claimed glory at Wimbledon.
The Serbian, however, also made the finals of the French and US Opens where he went down to Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray respectively.
“Congratulations to Novak on an amazing tournament and an amazing year, you are the best,” Federer said after his defeat in the ATP Tour Finals decider.
“It has been an amazing year for me too.”
Federer had been world number one until late in the season, before Djokovic stormed home.
