David Savic, a Serbian tennis player, just became the second tennis player who has received a ban for life from professional tennis after he attempted to fix matches.

In addition to his lifelong ban, the 26 year old was also slapped with a $100,000 fine after acquiring three breaches of anti-corruption rules. Savic was tried and found guilty for the three program breaches, and his ban starts immediately.

Earlier this year, Daniel Koellerer of Australia was also banned for life for also attempting to fix matches. Savic and Koellerer were found guilty of violating the same three rules that include, “contriving or attempting to contrive the outcome of an event.”

Though news has been disclosed publicly, the Tennis Integrity Unit will not be making any further details public.

Currently, David Savic is ranked at No. 659, although the highest he has reached is at No. 363, which was in 2009. Savic has not been able to play in any events higher than the challenger circuit. Previous players that have been banned temporarily include five Italian tennis players as well as Mathieu Montcourt.
