At the much awaited ATP Finals, Roger Federer gave Rafael Nadal just a small chance to put up a fight during their 22nd meeting in their career. Unfortunately Nadal was not able to pull through, resulting in a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 game that gave Federer his fifth title of the season.Roger Federer>

The match between the two of the greatest players of all time was rather spectacular especially for Federer. In fact, he won an incredible 92 percent of the points that were played during his first serve of the ATP World Tour Finals final round. In fact, during the entire match, he just lost 13 points.

Nadal had been on the top rank for the entire year, and even won the French Open, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open for this year’s season. However, he was only able to break Federer once during the second set, but appeared to have grown tired and weary as the match proceeded. The day before that, Nadal had spent more than three hours in a span of three sets defeating Andy Murray during his trek to the final round for the first time in all of his career.Rafael Nadal>

Although Federer won, he said, “I know I didn’t spoil his vacation after this because he’s had an amazing year… A year that any player dreams of.”

The loss put Nadal’s career record at 14-8 against Federer who is currently No. 2 in the world ranks.

Although defeated, Nadal told Federer, “You played unbelievable all during the week… So well done for everything.”
