Boulter has now overtaken former British World Number 1 Emma Raducanu in the rankings, she defeated four other British players to win the title.
“I dreamt of this moment at this tournament since I was a little girl,” said Boulter.
“There was training here when I was four or five years old, coming here as a fan and also now as a player, dreaming big and somehow found a way to win it today. It means more than everything to me.”
She arrived at the tournament ranked Number 126 but will be returning to the Top 100 for the first time since 2019 when the rankings refresh on Monday.
The finals match-up between the two Brits was the first one since 1977. It was only the third time that there was an All-British face-off in 50 years.
“I’m definitely going to be sleeping with this trophy tonight,” she also added.
Despite the loss, Burrage had a great week. She said that she had proven “a lot of things” to herself.
It put the future of British tennis in a good light with Boulter saying - “I don’t doubt we [Burrage and I] will be back here playing more finals.”
