36-year-old Murray has been in five French Open finals, including his 2016 runner-up finish behind Novak Djokovic.
Reports have been circulating that Murray is skipping the French Open in order to prioritize Wimbledon, where he won two of his Grand Slam titles.
Last week, Murray suffered a first-round exit at the Italian Open after he was beaten by Stan Wawrinka 6-3 6-0.
The French Open begins on May 28 while Wimbledon is not to start until July 3.
Murray is former World Number 1, he reached the status late in 2016 after he had won his third Grand Slam and an Olympic gold medal in men’s singles.
His career has hit a bit of a slump as of late and he has been trying to recover from his hip surgeries in 2018 and 2019.
It has been a good season for Murray, all considered and earlier this month, he won an ATP Challenger title in Aix-en-Provence.
Murray is yet to make a statement about his withdrawal from the French Grand Slam.
