Retired tennis player Roger Federer made multiple appearances in Japan this weekend, including at the Ariake Coliseum on Saturday for Uniqlo’s LifeWear Day.

Federer was joined by fellow Uniqlo ambassadors Kei Nishikori, Shingo Kunieda, and Gordon Reid and they participated in a number of fun activities.

Earlier that week, Federer also made an appearance at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

At the LifeWear Day event, he shared some insight into what it is like to be retired.

“As a tennis player you’re always thinking about your next practice, your next match,” he said.

“It never lets you go, your next travel, your next packing. I don’t think I was that much aware of it, how much that thought is always there, and it rides with you, until you retire and then you realize that stress all drops away.”

Federer has not played tennis since he officially retired from the ATP after the Laver Cup back in September.

One of the day’s activities was an exhibition match. Nishikori, who was acting as an umpire, asked Federer why he was wearing a Rolex watch while playing.

“It’s a look, post-retirement look,” responded the star.
