Fifth-seeded Jabeur beat Veronika Kudermetova 7-6(1) 6-4 to secure her spot in the quarters. The current Wimbledon runner-up let out a huge streak after her win against Kudermetova.
“It was a very difficult match,” Jabeur said on-court.
“As you can see, at the beginning she was 5-2 up and it’s very tough to play her, very frustrating for me, but I had to accept it and keep building. In the end, everything clicked together.
“Hopefully, I can continue to play this way against Ajla.”
Speaking of her upcoming match with Tomljanovic, she said:
“Ajla plays really well and I know it’s going to be a physical match. She’s going to hit really hard, so I have to be ready physically.”

Tomljanovic followed up her third-round win against Serena Williams by beating Ludmilla Samsonova in the fourth round, ending her opponents 13-match winning streak.
“Just feels really good to back up a win that I think got a lot of attention,” Tomljanovic said post-match. “It’s been a really big 48 hours. I didn’t really feel like myself today the whole day.
“I just felt a little bit drained. After that slow start, I just didn’t want to go out like that. Picked myself up, fought back really hard, played some quality tennis after that.”
The two will face off against each other in the quarterfinals.
