Hall of Fame Open: Andy Murray Loses to Alexander Bublik in Quarter Finals

Scottish-born Andy Murray has lost to Alexander Bublik 7-5 6-4 in the quarterfinals of the Hall of Fame Open.

In the second set, Murray had overturned an early break but Bublik managed to win four of the final breaks and secured victory.

This was his final grasscourt event of the year. Murray, who is currently in the No.52 spot in the World Rankings is next expected at the Citi Open. It is part of his warm-up to play in the US Open which starts next month.

After his win, Bublik said, “It’s great to be in the semi-finals again,” Bublik said. “I don’t have any tournaments the next two or three weeks so I’m engaged. I want to get as many matches as I can.”

Next, he will be facing Jason Kubler who beat Felix Auger-Aliassime. The other semifinal of the Hall of Fame Open will be between John Isner and Maxime Cressy.
