Springer has urged the United States Joe Biden to react and allow Djokovic the exemptions that will let him play in the US Open.
In a tweet, Springer said, “Biden is banning Novak Djokovic from coming to the USA to play the US Open but allows millions of unvaccinated illegals to flood across the border. Hey Joe, whats one more unvaxxed person?!?!”

The country has recently relaxed its restriction laws but individuals entering the country still need to show proof of vaccination. Djokovic is famously unvaccinated and has stated that he has no plans to get vaccinated just to be able to play in certain countries.
In one of his Wimbledon interviews, Djokovic said that he does not know if he will be allowed to play in the US Open or not and that he thinks an exemption is unlikely.
Last week, he was in Bosnia, inaugurating tennis courts, he said, “I’m not going to go to America if I don’t have permission, so the Australian saga for me was not pleasant at all.”
“I am a professional tennis player, I don’t go into politics or anything else because that doesn’t interest me,” he said.
“I have my stance and I am a proponent for freedom to choose what is best for you. I respect everything and everybody, and I expect people to at least respect my decision. If I have permission, Ill be there. If I don’t, I wont be there its not the end of the world.”
Earlier this year, Djokovic missed out on playing in the Australian Open because of his unvaccinated status.
