Portuguese Nino Borges will take his place.
The Croatian who was set to play against Mackenzie McDonald tested positive on Monday. Although he was not a favorite to win the tournament, he was still considered a strong dark horse, especially after making it to the semifinals of both the French Open and the Cinch Championship.
βHey guys, I am sad to share that I tested positive for COVID. I have been self-isolating and was hopeful I would be ready but unfortunately, I am still feeling unwell & unable to compete at my best,β Cilic shared in a tweet. βI am heartbroken to be missing @Wimbledon & to see my grass season end this way. Looking forward to competing again next year!β

Cilic is No.17 in the current world rankings. His best performance in Wimbledon came in 2017 when he made it to the finals before eventually losing to Roger Federer. Since he turned pro, he has gained a record of 80-32 on grass.
Wimbledon began on Monday and is set to run through to July 10. The competition got off to a rocky start as weather conditions forced 40 minutes of delay.
