The Worlds No. 1 is ready for a demanding few weeks at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and the US Open next.
The Wimbledon champion isn’t thrilled to be playing without the fans or the many restrictions due to Covid-19. However, he still decided to play in the Games and is expected to be the favorite to win gold.
According to Djokovic, his decision all came down to patriotism and his feelings for Serbia. He also mentioned feeling confident and motivated to represent his country in the best possible way.
This year, the 34-year-old champion has already won the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and most recently, Wimbledon. He is nearing a sweep of all Grand Slams the same way as Steffi Graff did in 1988.
Within the next two weeks, he will be returning to the court at the Tokyo Olympics since his win at the All England Club. The Olympics and the US Open will be his biggest objectives for the rest of the season.
Djokovic knew its going to be demanding, but he is inspired to play his best tennis. He is full of confidence he can win the gold medal.
After the Olympics, hell then go to New York and aim to complete the Golden Slam.
