The 34-year-old Serbian star recently defeated Italian Matteo Berrettini in the thrilling Wimbledon final on Sunday. He claimed his 20th mens title, equaling the records held by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
As of now, the only other tennis players with more titles are Margaret Court, Steffi Graf, and Serena Williams. But McEnroe believes that soon, Djokovic will surpass their records too.
McEnroe said to BBC Sport that Djokovic is playing a lot better than ever before. He thinks that the Serbian will win at least four or five titles more, depending on his health.
This year, Djokovic has already won three Grand Slam titlesthe Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. There is still the Olympics and the US Open, which means he still has a chance for a Golden Slam.
However, the Serbian is still not sure about coming to the Tokyo Olympics. Its no secret that Djokovic is motivated to break records, saying its his primary goal and a privilege.
His former coach, Boris Becker, who helped him win 6 of his 20 majors, strongly believes in him. The 2001 Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic, who is part of Djokovic’s coaching team, also believes that Novak is the best.
