Along with this unfortunate news, he shared that hes happy with what he has achieved, being able to live the dream hes had with his friends ever since he was a child.

Peoples fondest memory of Troicki was when he delivered for Serbia. Of course, no one would forget when he partnered with Novak Djokovic against Spain for the inaugural ATP Cup title. He is a staunch champion in international team competitions, successfully moving out of the shadows of his friends, Djokovic and Janko Tipsarevic.

In all his career, he came close to gaining a spot in FedEx ATP Rankings Top 10 in 2011, during the European clay swing. His victories include three titles in the ATP Tour singles and two doubles trophies. However, his most emotional match is his deciding game during the 2010 Davis Cup final.

Troicki said it was the greatest experience of his life when he struck a cross-court backhand return to Michael Llodra of France, winning 6-2, 6-2, 6-3. With his retirement, his childhood friend and World No.1 Djokovic did not miss paying Troicki a tribute, congratulating him on his career and the memories they share in and out of the court.

Tipsarevic also gave tribute to his friend, similarly congratulating Troicki for his unbelievable career and that it was an honor to be part of it. Troicki himself said he was not as gifted as other players, but he was a hard worker. He proved he can be a top player, and that he is.
