Djokovic Wins Over Roberto Bautista Agut in Wimbledon Semis

At Wimbledon, the defending champion, Novak Djokovic, is now one step closer to defending his title at the final round.

At Wimbledon, the defending champion, Novak Djokovic, is now one step closer to defending his title at the final round. Djokovic has defeated Roberto Bautista Agut in a 6-2 4-6 6-3 6-2 match, and will be making his 25th appearance at a Grand Slam final.

Djokovic will be going against Roger Federer, who just defeated another tennis giant Rafael Nadal, in hopes of winning his fifth Wimbledon title.

At 32-years-old, Djokovic still sees Wimbledon as his dream tournament since he was a child. As it is, he believes that his appearance in another final round is nothing but a dream come true. He said, “Regardless of the history and many finals I’ve played, playing finals at Wimbledon is something different so I’ll definitely enjoy that experience.

“I had to dig deep. It’s the semi-finals and Roberto was playing his first Grand Slam semi-final. He was not overwhelmed.

“He played really well. He was managing his nerves in the first set but later on he established himself and started to play better.

“I got a bit tight. It was a close opening four or five games of the third set – that’s where the match could have gone a different way. I’m glad it went my way.”

Although Djokovic will go against Federer next, he still shared that he is a fan of the Nadal vs Federer matchup. It is, after all, “one of the most epic rivalries of all time,” according to him.
