The midfield is the group of midfielders that play between the strikers and the defenders in a soccer team. Their objective is to dispossess the opposing team, to keep possession of the ball, and to feed it to the strikers.
The midfielders have different roles depending on the team formation and their individual traits. Some are defensive and others play just behind the strikers. Prerequisites for a midfielder are top physique, a high level of game perception, as well as dribbling, tackling, and shooting skills.
