A "goalpost" or a "goalframe" is a term used to define the area in which a goal has to be scored. It consists of two vertical posts joined together by a horizontal post along the top. This horizontal post is termed as the crossbar.
When the football legitimately goes inside this structure, then a goal is said to be scored. The side and back of the goalpost have a net all over them.
