A works team, often known as a factory team is a football team that is administered by a parent company. This company is in charge of running the team or the club, of funding the club and at times the team might even comprise of players from the company.
Some of the well-known football clubs were actually formed as a works team. Reigning Premier League and European champions Manchester United were formed as a work team. Argentine clubs such as Rosario Central and Club Atletico Central Cordoba and Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven were also formed as a works team.
