Sport Vereniging Roda Juliana Combinatie, commonly known as Roda JC, is a Dutch football club based in the city of Kerkrade. The club currently features in the Dutch Eredivisie and finished 9th in the Dutch first division in the 2007-2008 season.

Roda JC were established on June 27,1962 after several football clubs were merged together. SV Kerkrade, SV Bleijerheide, Rapid JC and two more clubs were merged together to form Roda JC.

Roda JC were promoted to the Eredivisie in 1973 and have since not been relegated from the Dutch first division. They won the KNVB Cup in 1997 and 2000.

Roda JC are a very respected football club in the Dutch football community as they have consistently provided stiff challenge to the Netherlands’ traditional top three (Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven).

Roda JC play their home matches at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion that can host a crowd of 19,979. They bear the nicknames the Pride of the South, De Koempels and De Limburgers.

Roda JC are known as “coal-miner’s club. The club have reached 6 KNVB Cup finals and have played in Europe on seven occasions. They have finished in the top ten of the Dutch first division more than 20 times since their promotion to the Dutch top flight in 1973.
