IK Start is a professional Norwegian football club from Kristiansand. Presently, the club plays in Adeccoligaen and was relegated from Tippeligaen in 2011. Founded on 19th September 1905, the coach of the team is Ivar Mjelde.
The home matches of this team are played exclusively at Sor Arena, which is in fact the club’s own stadium opened in 2007. Prior to moving to Sor Arena, IK Start team played their matches at the Kristiansand Stadion. The official supporter club is known as “Menigheden”. The Chairman of the club is Magne Kristiansen with Mons Ivar Mjelde being the manager of the club.

Major Achievements
The team are the national league winners in 1978 and in 1980, finishing in the third place in 1973, 1975, 1979, 1983, 1984, 1991 and in 1992.
They were also the winners thrice of the Norwegian first division in 1968, 1972 and in 2004.
