Hearts of Oak or Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club is a professional football club having its base in Accra, Greater Accra. This club competes in the Glo Premier League and is nicknamed as Phobia. Founded on 11th November 1911, the home ground of this team is Ohene Djan Stadium, which can easily manage 40,000 spectators seating arrangement.
The President of this team is Commodore Mensah whereas the head coach of the team is named Charles K Akunnor. This team has been Ghana and Africa’s pre-eminent clubs since its foundation in 1911 and has been successful so far, since the Ghanaian football league was formed in 1956, with collection of the league title 20 times. This brings them on behind their rival teams Asante Kotoko of Kumasi, who were the champions 21 times.

This is the oldest existing team in Ghana and was trained by Ackom Duncan, the first captain of the team. This team played their first and foremost match on 11th November 1911 against the team of the Invincible.
The team won their first major match in 1922, when the governor of the Gold Coast, Sir Gordon Guggisberg founded the Accra football League. The team won 6 of the 12 seasons in this league. In 1956, the team joined the Ghanaian football league, flourishing further. The vice chairman at that time was Mr. Robert Hayfron.
The team of Accra Hearts of Oak won both major present CAF trophies in spite of never having won any older incarnations of the CAF competitions. This team is the only team in Ghana to have won the league on 6 consecutive instances (1997-2002).
They won the title in 2009 and are behind their rival team, Asante Kotoko for most of the titles. With 9 championships, Hearts won FA cup titles compared to their rival team.
