Ajax Cape Town

Ajax Cape Town is a South African football club based in Parow, Cape Town. They currently feature in the Premier Soccer League.

Ajax Cape Town were established in 1999 after the two Cape Town-based clubs Seven Stars and Cape Town Spurs were merged together. It was supposed to be a feeder club to Dutch giants Ajax.

Ajax Cape Town had relatively few reasons to smile about as they weren’t very successful in their initial years, winning only the Rothmans Cup in 2000. In the 2006-2007 season, though, they finished fourth in the Premier Soccer League and also won the ABSA Cup.

Ajax Cape Town play their home matches at the Athlone Stadium that can accommodate 30,000 spectators. They bear the nickname “Urban Warriors”.
