Sporting Clube Olhanense were established on April 27, 1912 and have been out of the Portuguese top flight since 1975. They won the Portuguese championship in the 1923-1924 season.
Olhanense won the Portuguese second division title in the 2008-2009 season and gained promotion to the Portuguese top flight for the 2009-2010 season.
