Club de Deportes Santiago Wanderers is a Chilean football club which was founded in 1892. Based in Valparaiso city, the club currently plays in the first division of the Chilean football league. Their stadium is the Chiledeportes stadium, which was initially known as Estadio Municipal de Valparaiso, and has a capacity of seating 18,501 people. Facing one of the worst phases in history, the team is not expected to survive for much longer, even as they are losing matches to amateur teams such as Orompello de Esperanza and Union Quilpue.
Their wins include the National championship in 1958, 1968 and 2001, the Copa Chile in 1959 and 1961 and the Primera B championship in 1978 and 1995. Their most popular players are David Pizarro, Sergio Marchant, Mario Vener and Alex Varas amongst many others. Nicknamed portenos decano and Caturros, the team is currently managed by Jorge Aravena.
