Based out of Concepcion, Deportivo Universidad de Concepcion is a football team that plays in the Chilean Primera Division. The team is relatively young and plays at the local municipal stadium in the city. The team has only ever managed to win the third division title in 1997 and come second in the 2007 Clausura. They qualified for the 2004 Copa Libertadores without any success. Silvio Fernandez Dos Santos and Manuel Maciel have plied their trade at the club.
