Piotr Trochowski

Piotr Trochowski is a German football player who was born on March 22, 1984 in Tczew, Poland. The Polish-born player currently plays for Hamburger SV as well as for Germany’s national team.

Although Trochowski is born in Poland, he and his family left Poland and transferred to Hamburg under “the right of return for those of ethnic German ancestry” sometime during Trochowski was just 5 years of age. Four years later, he started playing for a youth career team called Billstedt Horn from 1993 to 1995. He then transferred to Concordia Hamburg in 1995, and then transferred to St. Pauli in 1997. His final youth team he played with was Bayern Munich from 1999 to 2002, and by 2002 he turned pro, entering Bayern Munich’s professional team.

In 2005, Trochowski transferred to Hamburg, and has been playing with the team ever since. So far, he has made 157 appearances for the team, and scored approximately 18 goals.

Trochowski is also a member of the German national team since 2006. So far, he has made 35 caps and scored 2 goals for the team. Two years before joining the national team, Trochowski was already a member of the German Under-21 team from 2004 to 2006. As an international player, Trochowski was able to score his first goal for Germany during the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup.
