Serdar Tasci is a professional German football player who is of Turkish descent. He is currently known for being a defender for the German national team as well as for VfB Stuttgart team. While playing, Tasci usually plays as the center back or right back of the team.

Born on April 24, 1987 in Esslingen, West Germany, Tasci started playing football by joining youth teams such as the SC Altbach, a division of Stuttgarter Kickers. Later on, he joined VfB Stuttgart team and played for the team from 1999 to 2005.

Tasci made his professional debut on August 20, 2006, when he played for Stuttgart against Arminia Bielefeld. The team won during the match in a 3-2 game, and he was soon brought in to play when Jon Dahl Tomasson was injured. A week later after his professional debut, he managed to score his first goal and once more in a game against Borussia Dortmund.

Due to his being of Turkish descent, Tasci has the option to play for either Germany or Turkey team. However, as of 2006, Tasci decided to pursue a career in Germany, and soon he was able to make a debut to play as an international player for Germany’s Under-21 national team in February 2007.

By 2010, he was already a part of the German national team, and made his World Cup debut during a substitution for Mesut Ozil in the match against Uruguay in the 91st minute. So far, he has made 14 appearances for the German national team, not including the ones for Under 21 and Under 19.
