Róbert Vittekimage:Róbert Vittek |Róbert Vittek is a Slovak football player who plays at a position of striker for Ankaragucu, a Turkish Super League club. With the Slovakia national football team since 2001, Robert made 75 appearances and scored 23 goals.
Robert started playing professional football from 1999 for his hometown club, Slovan Bratislava. With this team, he played till 2003, making 101 appearances and scoring 47 goals. From 2003, he joined Nuremberg, and scoring five goals which earned the team with a promotion for the 2004-05 campaign. By scoring 16 goals in the final 16 matches at the later half of the season, Robert became the most thrilling players in the Bundesliga.
In the history of Spieltag 24 and 25, he became the first ever Bundesliga player to have scored a combination of six goals in 2 consecutive matches. He performed tremendously in 2005-06, due to which he was the most sought after product in European football. It was rumored that Hamburger SV along with Lokomotiv Moscow were the main Bundesliga club to be squaring him. He was offered a whopping amount of 10 million Euros by Dynamo Kiev in June 2006, but he rejected the offer.
After many offers, Robert ultimately settled with Lille OSC, a French club for 5.5 million Euros in 2008. By the month of February 2010, Robert left the club and signed for a half year loan deal with MKE Ankaragucu. Ultimately, the club bought his transfer fee from Lille.
