Simão Pedro Fonseca Sabrosaimage:Fonseca Sabrosa midfielder|Simão is a Portuguese international footballer who also features for Atlético Madrid. Primarily a right winger, he can also play as a forward in the hour of need.

Simão began his professional career with Sporting CP. He made fifty three appearances for them from 1997-99 and scored twelve goals. He moved to Barcelona and played for them from Barcelona making forty six appearances and scoring seventy six goals. Later he shifted to Benfica and made one hundred and seventy two appearances for them. He netted the ball seventy six times for Benfica.

On 20th June 2007, Simão was signed by Atlético Madrid for €20 million. An undisputed starter in the first two seasons as the club ended up fourth on both the occasions. He scored seven goals in both the seasons. Sabrosa got his name engraved in the history of club by scoring its 4000th goal on 12th April 2009. He became one of the club’s captains after a reshuffle by the Coach Abel Resino in the 2009 summer. Simão scored a couple of goals for Atlético in a 5–1 victory against Recreativo de Huelva on January 14, 2010.

Simão made his international debut Portugal in a match against Israel on 18th November 1998, aged 19. He was a part of the national squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany. He played all the matches for the side as Portugal finished fourth in the tournament. He scored only one goal in the group-stage matches in a 2–1 victory over Mexico. He helped Portugal in winning the quarter finals by scoring netting the ball in a penalty shootout. He emerged as a top-scorer for Portugal by scoring four goals in the FIFA the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
