Kevin Großkreutz is a professional football player from Germany, who is best known as a striker for Borussia Dortmund. Großkreutz was born on July 19, 1988 in Dortmund, West Germany, and is also recognized as the cousin of Marcel Großkreutz, who plays for Borussia Dortmund II.
Großkreutz started playing youth football sometime before 2002. During his youth football playing career, he played in VfL Kemminghausen, FC Merkur 07 Dortmund, Borussia Dortmund, and Rot Weiss Ahlen. Although his career as a youth player was impressive, he finally made a move to become a professional football player in 2006 and joined Rot Weiss Ahlen. While at Rot Weiss Ahlen, he stayed with the group from 2007 to 2009. During that time, he made a total of 95 appearances and 23 goals for the team. By 2009 he transferred to Borussia Dortmund, where he is currently playing at.
Großkreutz is also a part of the German national football team since 2010. However, he has made only one appearance since he became a part of the team.
