Career
Valeri's journey in soccer began at a young age, as he represented Australia at various youth levels, including the under-17, under-20, and under-23 teams. He notably captained the under-17 squad, affectionately known as the Joeys, during the FIFA World Youth Championship in 2001. His international experience expanded as he played with the Olyroos at the 2004 Athens Olympics.He made his senior debut for the Australian national team in March 2007, marking his entry into international football by becoming the 501st player capped for Australia in a friendly against China. Valeri's home debut followed later that year against Uruguay, and he continued to represent Australia, competing in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Throughout his club career, Valeri has played for several teams, including a stint with Internazionale during the 2004-05 season. He spent five years with Grosseto, where he made 133 appearances and scored 7 goals. Since 2010, he has been with Sassuolo, where he has accumulated 15 appearances to date.
