Kyle Beckerman
Kyle Beckerman is a professional football player from the United States. He was born on April 23, 1982 in Crofton, Maryland, and he is best known for being the current team captain of the Real Salt Lake team that is a part of the MLS (Major League Soccer).
Beckerman started playing football when he was still very young, and even in his youth, he was already playing in various leagues around the Bowie, Maryland area. In fact, he was a participant of the Under-17 World Cup in 1999, which was held in New Zealand. Fresh out of high school, Beckerman was signed by Nike Project-40 for the MLS in June 2000.
Two days after he was signed with the league, Beckerman was claimed by Miami Fusion, unfortunately he was not able to make a lot of appearances during his two years at Fusion. He then went on loan to the MLS Pro-40, but was only able to make 7 appearances there.
The longest time Beckerman spent in a club was when he was with Colorado Rapids, where he stayed from 2002 to 2007. During his stint with the club, he was able to make 148 appearances as well as score 10 goals. Then he transferred to his current team, Real Salt Lake.
Beckerman is also a part of the United States national team, where he has 6 caps and has scored 1 goal representing the United States. While he was in the team roster for two World Cup qualifier matches, Beckerman was not in the official team roster of the 2010 FIFA World Cup U.S. Soccer team.
