A professional football player, Sebastián Fernández was born on 23rd May 1985 in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is a part of the national football team of Uruguay. He also plays for Argentine Club Atlético Banfield. The other clubs he has been a part of include Miramar Misiones from 2004 to 2006 and Defensor Sporting Club from 2007 to 2008. He plays as a striker.

Fernández began his football career with Miramar Misiones in 2004. In seventy five appearances made for the club, he scored 21 goals. He moved to Defensor Sporting Club in 2007 making total 32 appearances for them. He scored 15 goals for the club and was a part of the team when they won Apertura championship in 2007 and the Copa Uruguaya in the year 2008. He was signed by Atlético Banfield in 2008. He soon became a key-player of the squad that emerged victorious in Apertura championship in 2009 and Argentine championship in the same year.

Sebastián Fernández made his international debut for the national team of Uruguay in a friendly game played against Romania in May 2006. He was also included in the 23 men squad of the national team for 2010 FIFA World Cup. Till now, he has won seven caps for his country.
