Thanduyise Khuboniimage:Thanduyise Khuboni|Thanduyise Khuboni is a South African football player, who is currently playing for Golden Arrows in the Premier Soccer League along with the South Africa national football team. Born in Durban in KwaZulu-Natal in 1986, Khuboni stands five feet eleven and a half inches tall. This defensive midfielder was named in the preliminary thirty man South Africa squad for the FIFA World Cup in 2010. Later on, he was also named in the final twenty three squad.

Hailing from Clermont, a township in Durban, Khuboni jersey number is 25. During his youth career, he played for Fobs and Young Mates team. From 2007 onwards, he has started playing football for the Golden Arrows, making 79 appearances and 2 goals. Whilst with the South Africa team, he made 7 appearances.

Khuboni is a relatively unknown figure in South African and also in international football. Moreover, prior to joining the training camp of the South Africa national football team in April this year in Germany, he didn’t had a single international cap under his belt. This hard man was however handed an unusual call-up in 2010 by Parreira, when the Brazilian wanted to improvise the squad depth.

After his debut though, Khuboni was admired a lot by Parreira as his ability to control the game tempo impressed him a lot whilst maintaining good position in midfield.
