Héctor Alfredo Moreno Herrera>, born on 17th January 1988 in Mexico, is a professional football player who is a part of Mexico national football team. He also plays for AZ Alkmaar, a Dutch Eredivisie club. Standing six feet and one inch tall, Moreno plays at the position of centre back.
Moreno began his football career with UNAM Pumas. He was a regular striker for the team. In forty four appearances for Pumas, he scored two goals. In 2008, he moved to AZ Alkmaar for four and a half years. He is the fifth defender of Mexico to be a part of one of the top leagues of Europe. He scored his first goal in just the eighth appearance for the team. In total fifty one appearances made for AZ till now, Hector has scored three goals.
So far, Hector Moreno has made eleven appearances for the national team of Mexico. Unfortunately, with the likes of defenders like Osorio, Salcido, Juarez, Marquez and Magallon in the team he has got limited playing opportunities till now. He made his FIFA World Cup debut in 2010 in a match resulting in Mexico’s victory over France with 2-0.
