Moeneeb debuted his career at the age of 17 with Cape Town Spurs in 1997. He made twenty one appearances for the team. Later in 1999, he joined Ajax Cape Town where he made 115 appearances. In 2006, he joined the Wits University where he made 55 apperances. After playing for the club for two years, he joined Orlando Pirates. He has made 54 appearances for the club so far. In his youth career, he has played for the Westridge Rovers and Westdale teams. He is playing for the South African national football team since 2003.

Moneeb was not selcted for the final squad of 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. However, he got selected during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. During the 2010 FIFA World Cup he was called as a 79th substitute for Steven Pienaar. He was unable to stop the penalty kick from Diego Forlan. This put Uruguay ahead of South Africa by 2-0.
