Sebastien Squillaci is a France international football player who currently features for the English and European giants Arsenal. He plays as a central defender.
Squillaci commenced his professional club football career at French outfit Toulon in 1997 and a year later joined Monaco.
Squillaci established himself as one of the best centre-backs in Europe during his time at Monaco, scoring 19 goals in 217 league appearances. He played on loan for Ajaccio for two years between 2000 and 2002, scoring seven goals in 69 league matches.
Squillaci won the Coupe de la Ligue with Montpellier in 2003 and helped his side reach the Champions League final in 2003-04.
In 2006 he was signed by French giants Olympique Lyonnais and won two successive Ligue 1 titles with OL as well as the Coupe de France in 2008. Thereafter he joined Sevilla and played for them for two seasons.
Squillaci was a success at Sevilla as well, scoring one goal in 49 La Liga matches. He won the Copa del Rey with the Andalucian giants in 2010 and joined Arsenal on a three-year contract that summer.
Squillaci made his international debut for France in August 2004 against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a friendly international. He played for his country at Euro 2008 and 2010 World Cup finals.
