Raul Albiol Tortajada is a Spain international football player who currently features for the Spanish and European giants Real Madrid. He is a versatile footballer who can play as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder. Albiol was a member of the Spain squad for Euro 2008, 2010 World Cup finals and Euro 2012.
Albiol graduated from the famous youth academy of Valencia but made his senior debut in La Liga for modest Madrid side Getafe in their debut season in La Liga in 2004-2005 as a loanee.
He returned to Valencia in the summer of 2005 after making 17 league appearances for the club and very soon created space for himself in the Valencia starting xi, going on to make 131 La Liga appearances for Los Che, scoring five goals in the process.

In the summer of 2009 Madrid signed Albiol from Valencia for €15 million. However, he has failed to establish himself as a regular centre-back for Los Blancos, but has won the Copa del Rey in 2011 and La Liga in 2012.
Albiol made his international debut for Spain in October 2007 against Denmark and has featured in over 35 matches for his country. He won Euro 2008, 2010 World Cup finals Euro 2012 with La Furia Roja.
