Juan Carlos Silva made his professional football debut with Club America in 2007, in a game against Jaguares de Chiapas. Silva got an opportunity to showcase his skill when he was picked by former Club America coach, Daniel Brailovsky, included him in the starting line-up, against Chivas. Silva scored two goals in the match, taking his team to victory. Apart from this Silva also participated in the Mexican Under-23 team, for the 2008 Olympic qualifiers.
Silva was also in the Mexican Under-17 squad, for the Under-17 FIFA World Cup, which Mexico went on to win. In particular Silva is known for his goal against Inter Milan, during the World Football Challenge 2009, a match they eventually won in penalties.
