Enrique Alejandro Esqueda Tirado is a professional footballer from Mexico who plays as a striker. Esqueda is a product of the youth system at Club America, known for producing some incredible names in world football. Esqueda was pulled up to the first team in 2006, when he was still 18. By that time, he had already been a part of the Mexican Under-17 squad and had played at the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in Peru, 2005.
In 2007, while at the Club America senior team, Esqueda was named to the Mexico Under-20 squad for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2007. He scored once in two games during the build-up to the tournament but, at the last minute, was dropped from the lineup. Soon, Esqueda made it to the Mexican Under-23 side and was named as a member of the squad travelling for the 2007 Pan American Games.
With four goals in the tournament, Esqueda took his Under-23 tally to 5 in 12 games, helping Mexico earn the Bronze medal in the tournament.
For Club America, Esqueda made his debut in 2006 but was mostly used as a substitute when the game was decided, or in friendly games. Since his early days, Esqueda has established himself as one of the stronger players on the side and a wonderful prospect for the future. His goal against Italian giants AC Milan, in the World Football Challenge, put him on the map and since then, Esqueda has become a regular starter for the team, scoring 11 times in over 60 games.
Along with the Bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games, Esqueda also has the 2005 FIFA Under-17 World Championship medal and the 2008 Interliga title, with Club America.
Esqueda recently became a part of the senior Mexican national team and has played 4 games for them till date, scoring against Trinidad & Tobago.
