Donieber Alexander Marangon, commonly known simply as Doni, is a Brazilian football player currently features for the English and European giants Liverpool. Doni is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Doni is sort of a journeyman footballer and has played for a multitude of football clubs in his career. He commenced his professional career at Brazilian giants Corinthians in 1999 and then arched through Santos, Cruzeiro and Juventude before finally landing in Rome and at AS Roma and after a shaky start to his Roma career, established himself as a first-choice for his country.
Doni made 148 Serie A appearances for Roma between 2005 and 2011 and then he joined Liverpool on a free transfer. However, at Anfield he has failed to play regularly because of the presence of Pepe Reina.
Doni made his international debut for Brazil only in June 2007 against Turkey and was the first choice for his nation in Copa America 2007. He featured for his country at the 2010 World Cup finals.
